summertime

yes subscribers, i will be writing in the xanga this summer...or shall i say attempting to keep up. freshman year is over. this year flew by quicker than i ever thought it would. right now i am at home on the family computer (since my computer decided to die over spring break) in the formal living room avoiding the laundry that needs to be done. it is so nice to be home and away from everything at school. i was more than ready for a break. I think this week home will be long enough to recharge my batteries and then hit the ground running on monday. yesterday my mommy and i went through "the box of recipes" (it was my grandma lois's...the home ec. teacher), and my mommy's favorite cookbooks and i made my own cook book!!! It is really cute and has 40 recipes in it :^). I will be listing its contents for your enjoyment. I CANNOT WAIT to cook when i get back to ocu next week and for the rest of my life come to think of it. So here it goes:

15 smoothie recipes

oven fries

cheddar garlic biscuits (much like red lobster)

baked corn (used for thanksgiving...need i say more)

sweet potato souffle (can have either pecan or marshmallow topping)

dutch farmer's soup (healthy and yummy)

broccoli-cheese soup

corn and chicken chowder

vegetable chowder

hot chili

oven omelet

baked fish mozzarella

a fine kettle of fish! (ahhhh haaa haaaa)

honey baked chicken

chicken francese

"conservative" mac and cheese (that is what my mom calls it, since it was on of reagan's favorite recipes. it is from the white house cookbook)

shepherd's pie

chicken quesadillas

homemade pasta (homemade noodles kids!)

tomato sauce (this recipe with the homemade noodles is absolutely incredible)

Batter bread (not too complicated yeast bread)

Pumpkin bread

Cinnamon Raisin bread (yeast bread that will be so much fun to make!!)

Poppy Seed bread (seriously amazing. it has glaze on the top of it too)

Banana bread

Coffee Cake (my grandmother's recipe...sooo good)

Blueberry Cake

The Martha Stewart Chocolate Chip Cookies (OOOHHHH MY GOOODNESSS!!!)

Robert Emery's Chocolate Chip Cookies (again....OOHHHH MY GOOODNEESS!!)

Neiman-Marcus Cookies (this and the chocolate chip cookies can and will be made without chocolate for rick because chocolate is not his favorite. no worries though, these cookie recipes are still amazing without the chocolate)

A lot of them came from cookbooks my mommy in new england at these cute little bed and breakfasts. Dinner parties will be happening. ok, so the opening of the music school was INCREDIBLE!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO USE IT! more on this later

yeah, so i pretty much never write on xanga anymore. life is too busy...but i found this on miss alexa jordan's journal and i decided to steal it. i haven't ever done that before....hehehehehe. ANYWAYS....here it goes

Do you wash your face at least once a day? two or three times a day...yeah

Do you know what kind of lip gloss can make your teeth whiter? yes i do

Do you use an eyelash curler? all the time

How many colors of eyeshadow do you own? everyshade of green imaginable...i am not exaggerating. browns, pinks, purples, no blue...no, and i have a set of really awesome bronzed eyeshadows for summertime....i am pretty much obsessed

Do you use water proof mascara? yes

How much do you pay for makeup? TOO MUCH

Does toothpaste really help acne? i don't believe so

Which shampoo and conditioner do you use? herbal essences rainforest shampoo that smells quite marvelous if i do say so myself. and john frieda conditioner for curly hair
